Diseases


  • Powdery Mildew
      A fungus disease that forms a white or gray “powder” on the outside of the leaves, which is composed of fungal strands and spores. Common plants affected are: Rhaphiolepis, Crape Myrtles, Sycamores, Viburnum, and Edonymus.

  • Leaf Spot
      There are thousands of leaf spotting fungi or bacteria, most of which cause only cosmetic damage. Leaf spotting bacteria is usually spread by splashing water or contaminated hands or tools. Leaf spot is more severe in mild, wet conditions. Common plants affected are: Camellias, Dogwoods, and Roses.

  • Anthracnose
      Anthracnose is a form of fungi that spreads in spring from splashing raindrops and wind. Infected trees will have dry scorched leaves and trees will prematurely lose their leaves. Common trees affected are: Ash, Sycamores and Oaks.

  • Rust
      Most rusts produce rust colored or brown powdery pustules on leaves. Diseased plants are usually weak and stunted. Severely infected plants may die. Common plants affected are: Roses.

  • Black Spot
      Black Spot is a form of Leaf Spot that usually affects roses and some varieties of Pear trees. Common plants affected are: Pears and Roses.
